What stood out on research day

• Public Storage at 7707 N Oak Trafficway posted the lowest outdoor vehicle parking price we confirmed. Its facility page listed an uncovered Parking 10×20 with Vehicle Parking and drive-up access at $78/mo online (list / in-store about $98). The pad tags boat, car and RV storage, says a property manager lives on site, and advertises 24/7 access available next to regular access hours of 6:00 AM–10:00 PM. A one-time $29 admin fee applies to new rentals.
• Public Storage at 6810 N Oak Trafficway (formerly iStorage) lists car storage as a facility feature. SelfStorage.com tagged its drive-up 10×20 at $152/mo online ($202 regular) and 10×30 at $285/mo online ($380) as Vehicle units — enclosed roll-up spaces you can park a car in, not open lot parking. No uncovered parking-space price showed on the operator page.
• Royal State Storage (1610 NW Vivion Rd) advertises RV, boat and trailer uncovered parking, plus covered, uncovered and garage bays from 20 to 55 ft. Its homepage did not show a parking-space price on research day, so call (816) 741-8440. Gate hours are 7:00 AM–10:00 PM daily; business accounts can get 24-hour access.
• Gladstone Self Storage (7040 N Broadway) does not publish outdoor parking rates on its own site. Storage.com lists vehicle storage requirements (title, registration, insurance, must be drivable), which usually means they will discuss a car or small vehicle — ask before you assume an open RV lot. Gate access runs 6:00 AM–11:00 PM, the latest regular gate on this page.
• Want a dedicated paved lot with posted parking prices near KCI? Kansas City North Storage (7557 NW Cookingham Dr, about 15–20 minutes from Gladstone per the operator) listed an uncovered 8.5×20 parking space at $115/mo, a 9×30 outdoor space in its size guide, enclosed 10×20 units that allow vehicle storage ($166/mo, $83 promo), 10×25 ($195 / $97.50 promo), and a 13.5×50 enclosed bay at $495/mo for vehicles, boats and RVs. Gate access is 24/7.

If you need an enclosed roll-up for a car, compare PS 6810 ($152 for a tagged 10×20) and KC North Storage enclosed units (promo pricing on 10×20 / 10×25, plus a 50-ft bay). Call Royal State for uncovered RV/boat parking rates that aren’t posted online.

Covered vs uncovered (Northland weather)

1. Uncovered lot: cheapest and easiest to pull through. Sun, hail and ice are on you. PS 7707’s $78 space and KC North’s $115 space are uncovered.
2. Covered carport or canopy: roof for hail and UV; sides open. Royal State advertises covered bays — get a current quote and clearance height.
3. Enclosed / high-door unit: best protection for a classic car or small boat on a trailer. PS 6810’s tagged vehicle 10×20 / 10×30 and KC North’s enclosed sizes (including 13.5×50) are the posted options here.
4. Power at the space: not advertised on the open parking rows we priced. Royal State’s premium drive-up units have electrical power — that is a unit feature, not a parking-space claim.

North Kansas City & Gladstone practical tips

• N Oak Trafficway is the Gladstone spine. Both Public Storage pads sit on N Oak; 7707 is the one with a priced outdoor parking space on research day.
• Prices move. Our 10/8 drive-up guide also recorded PS 7707 uncovered 10×20 vehicle parking at $78. Re-check before you book — Public Storage web rates change often.
• Royal State is the clearest local RV/boat parking claim without a public price. Budget a phone call; don’t rely on the drive-up unit prices ($99–$190) as parking quotes.
• Spillover toward KCI. KC North Storage is outside Gladstone/NKC city limits but posts the most complete parking + enclosed vehicle size ladder we found. Factor the 15–20 minute drive.
• Not listed as vehicle parking here: Attic Storage on Macon St (strong climate / drive-up / oversized commercial presence; location page did not clearly advertise RV/boat parking on research day). Extra Space on NE Antioch Rd (operator page bot-walled today; earlier guides treated it as indoor — we didn’t invent a vehicle price). Stor Safe-style indoor warehouse sites without a vehicle claim.
