We checked every self-storage facility we cover in North Kansas City and Gladstone, plus the StorageMart pads on NE Davidson Rd and N Oak Trafficway just outside them. On research day only one facility advertised a facility-level “24/7 Access Available” badge on its own page: Public Storage at 7707 N Oak Trafficway in Gladstone. Most other pages listed access ending at 10:00 PM.

What stood out on research day

• One Northland pad carries Public Storage’s “24/7 Access Available” badge: 7707 N Oak Trafficway (#1155). The same page lists the property as open Mon–Sun 6:00 AM–10:00 PM, with the office on the same hours and a property manager living on site. Ask whether 24/7 entry applies to your unit and whether it costs extra.
• The badge pad was cheap today. Its outside swing-door 10×10 was $45/mo online ($90 in-store) and a 5×10 was $35 ($70), both on a Halloween Sale. The only drive-up-tagged small unit was an 8×10 at $57 ($71) with a $1 first month. Enclosed drive-up 10×24 was $70 ($140) and 10×30 $95 ($190). No inside units showed online.
• Gladstone Self Storage has the latest regular gate: 6:00 AM–11:00 PM daily. That’s on its own page and on Storage.com. Storage.com also lists a “24-hour access” amenity for it, which conflicts with those hours, so we go with the operator. Web rates on Storage.com: outdoor 10×10 $139, 5×10 $99. The operator page posts a Fall Special: 3 months half price on outdoor 10×10s.
• Royal State Storage says business accounts can get 24-hour access. Its gate-hours table lists 7:00 AM–10:00 PM daily; a banner on the same page says 5 AM to 9 PM, so confirm. Drive-up 10×15 was $99, the cheapest 10×15 here.
• Public Storage 6810 N Oak Trafficway shows no badge and closes at 10:00 PM. Its outside 10×10 was $115 online ($153), not on sale.
• StorageMart’s Northland pads close at 10:00 PM. NE Davidson Rd lists a drive-up 10×10 at $116 on its own page ($104 deal on SpareFoot) and N Oak Trafficway (9200, 64155) $137 ($82 deal on SpareFoot). Neither operator page makes a facility-specific overnight claim.
• SpareFoot’s “24 Hour Storage in Gladstone” page lists 16 facilities and none are in Gladstone or North Kansas City. Twelve are StorageMart pads, and the closest is StorageMart NE Davidson Rd, 2.5 miles away per SpareFoot. Treat the filter as a question for the manager.
• The next 24/7-badge pad is across the river. Public Storage’s Gladstone 24/7 page lists 6600 State Ave in Kansas City, KS (about 11 miles) and Troost Ave in Kansas City, MO (about 14 miles) after 7707 N Oak.

Takeaway: For a facility-level 24/7 badge in North Kansas City or Gladstone, Public Storage 7707 N Oak Trafficway is the only one we found, and its outside 10×10 was $45 online on research day. Ask how after-hours entry works, because the page lists 6:00 AM–10:00 PM next to the badge. If 11 PM is late enough, Gladstone Self Storage has the latest posted gate. Web prices exclude admin fees ($29 Public Storage, $25 Gladstone Self Storage), insurance or protection plans, tax and later rate changes. Public Storage’s Halloween Sale rates are half the in-store rate and last four months, so 7707 N Oak’s 10×10 goes to $90 from month 5.

What “24-hour access” means here

1. A facility badge is not the same as a unit tag. 7707 N Oak shows “24/7 Access Available” at the facility level, but none of its unit cards carried a 24-hour tag on research day.
2. Regular hours still apply to most renters. The badge pad lists 6:00 AM–10:00 PM. Ask whether overnight entry is automatic, by request, or costs extra.
3. Listing sites filter loosely. SpareFoot’s 24-hour Gladstone page lists 16 facilities, none in Gladstone, and Storage.com tags Gladstone Self Storage “24-hour” while the operator posts 6 AM–11 PM. Go by what the facility tells you.
4. “Business accounts” means ask first. Royal State says business accounts can get 24-hour access. Get it confirmed, in writing if you can, before you sign.
5. Swing door vs drive-up. 7707 N Oak’s cheapest outside units are swing-door, not tagged drive-up. If you load at night, ask whether you can park at the door.

Verify checklist (before you rent)

• Ask whether 24/7 access applies to the specific unit you’re renting, or only to some units
• Ask whether after-hours access costs extra, needs manager approval, or needs a business account
• Ask whether the online price is still live and what the rate becomes after month 4 or after the promo
• Budget the admin fee ($29 Public Storage, $25 Gladstone Self Storage) or the 2.5% card fee (StorageMart) and any required protection plan
• Check gate code rules, lighting and cameras if you plan to visit late at night

Northland practical tips

• Two Public Storage pads on N Oak. 7707 has the badge; 6810 (formerly iStorage) doesn’t. Don’t mix them up when you call.
• Prices moved since our 10/08 drive-up guide. At 7707 N Oak, the drive-up 10×10 we saw at $80 on 2026-10-08 wasn’t listed today, while the swing-door 10×10 dropped to $45 on sale. Enclosed 10×24 went from $107 to $70, and 10×30 from $152 to $95. StorageMart NE Davidson’s drive-up 10×10 went from $105 to $116.
