Grain Valley sits on I-70 between Blue Springs and Oak Grove, close to Lake Jacomo, Lake Lotawana and Longview Lake, and a lot of newer subdivisions here have HOA rules against parking a boat or camper in the driveway. The good news: Grain Valley has more open-air vehicle parking than most east-metro towns, spread across StorageMart on NW Jefferson St, Extra Space and DMK Storage on SW Eagles Pkwy, and a small 24/7 lot at Grain Valley Storage downtown. For a fully enclosed RV bay, the nearest dedicated option we found is Motor Haven, farther east on I-70 past Odessa.

- StorageMart NW Jefferson St has the cheapest and longest open-air spaces. Its own page listed non-paved parking at 8×18 $31, 8×28 $51, 10×28 $53, 10×38 $74 and 10×48 $92. Its filter describes parking as 18 to 38 ft deep, and its copy markets boat storage near Lake Jacomo and RV and camper parking.
- Extra Space SW Eagles Pkwy has a 10×25 uncovered space at $51 ($57) on SpareFoot. It was the only Grain Valley facility on SpareFoot’s RV, boat and car storage pages, which skip StorageMart’s parking, Grain Valley Storage’s lot and DMK. SpareFoot says vehicles there need registration, insurance and title, and must be drivable.
- DMK Storage (29803 SW Eagles Pkwy) prices per item, not by size. Outdoor storage is $125/mo for 6 months or less and $100/mo for 7+ months. Covered outdoor storage is $150 short-term and $125 long-term, and the site says covered ports are limited. It takes autos, boats, trailers, RVs and equipment and asks for ownership verification.
- Grain Valley Storage is the 24/7 option, but its lot was full. Its own rent page lists a 40×12 parking spot at $69/mo, marked Waiting List, and says the facility is accessible 24/7. SpareFoot shows a $0 admin fee and a refundable deposit equal to the first month’s rent.
- Everyone else closes at 10 PM. StorageMart, Extra Space and Spare Garage all list access 6:00 AM–10:00 PM. SpareFoot says StorageMart offers 24-hour access with manager approval, for an additional monthly fee.
- Enclosed RV bays mean a drive east. Motor Haven (12583 N Outer Rd, Odessa) listed a 30×14 enclosed unit at $247 ($347) on a 6-month discount that its page says lasts until 12/31/2026, plus 50×15 $547 ($597) and 55×20 $747 ($797). All have 12-ft-wide, 14-ft-tall doors and a 120V outlet. Its 30×22, 50×17 and 60-ft drive-thru bays were wait-listed. It advertises 24-hour gated access, a dump station, fresh water and 60-ft driveways.

Prices exclude admin fees ($29 at StorageMart and Extra Space), StorageMart’s 2.5% card fee, deposits, insurance or protection plans, tax and later rate changes. Distances are SpareFoot’s from Grain Valley’s center. DMK and Motor Haven aren’t on SpareFoot.
Non-paved vs uncovered vs covered vs enclosed
- Non-paved or uncovered space. The cheapest option ($31–$92 here). StorageMart’s spaces are listed as non-paved, so expect gravel or dirt. Sun, hail and ice hit your boat or camper, so budget for a good cover.
- Covered port (DMK Storage). A roof but open sides, for $125–$150 per item. DMK says covered ports are limited, so call first.
- Enclosed drive-up unit. Grain Valley’s deepest drive-up units are 10×30 (Extra Space $95, StorageMart $196) and StorageMart’s 10×40 ($314). Check door height before you tow a tall boat or camper.
- Enclosed RV bay (Motor Haven). 30 to 60 ft deep with 14-ft-tall doors and power. This is the option for a Class A or fifth-wheel that needs a roof and walls.

Grain Valley practical tips
- SpareFoot misses most of Grain Valley’s parking. Its RV, boat and car pages list only Extra Space in town. StorageMart’s spaces, Grain Valley Storage’s lot and DMK’s ports are only on their own sites.
- DMK rewards long stays. Outdoor storage drops from $125 to $100 per item, and covered from $150 to $125, if you store 7 months or more. That’s worth asking about for a boat you’ll store all winter.
- Get on Grain Valley Storage’s waiting list early if you need 24/7 gate access. Its $69 40×12 spot was the only true 24/7 open-air space we found in town, and it was full.
- Two Eagles Pkwy addresses. Extra Space is at 1600 SW Eagles Pkwy near I-70, and DMK is at 29803 SW Eagles Pkwy farther south. Check which one you’re driving to.
