How we compare storage facilities
Our job is to save you phone calls — not to sell you a ranking.
Where the data comes from
- Primary sources first. Facility and brand websites (unit tables, amenity lists, posted gate and office hours).
- Listing sites as a cross-check. When a marketplace shows a different price, we show it as a range and say so.
- Every guide is dated. The “Researched” date at the top of each guide is when the snapshot was taken.
What we compare
- Gate access hours vs office hours, and any “24/7” claims (marked “ask” unless clearly published)
- True climate control vs heated-only or indoor-only units
- Drive-up vs interior/elevator access; vehicle, boat, and RV parking types
- Published price bands, promo vs standard rates, and admin fees where listed
What we never do
- We never invent prices, star ratings, or reviews.
- We don't accept payment to rank or include a facility.
- We don't use facility photos we don't have rights to.
Labels such as claimed, verify, and spillover (a facility just outside the named city) are kept visible on purpose. Prices change daily — treat every number as a starting point, and confirm with the facility before you rent.

Facilities update rates and hours often. If something is out of date, the facility's own website or phone line is the source of truth — and we re-check guides as we update them.
