24-Hour Access Storage in Liberty & Kearney, MO (2026 Snapshot)

If you work nights at the Ford plant in Claycomo, run a contractor trailer out of a unit, or load the truck before a 5 AM start, gate hours matter more than the sticker price. We checked every self-storage facility we cover in Liberty and Kearney. On research day four facilities advertised 24-hour access on their own pages: three in Kearney and one in Liberty. Every branded pad in Liberty listed access ending at 10:00 PM, and StorageMart’s after-hours option costs extra.

What stood out on research day

• Kearney has three 24-hour operators. North Kearney Storage on MO-33 lists store hours of 12:00 AM–11:59 PM every day and says every unit is drive-up. Across the road, North Park Storage lists access as “Open 24 Hours”. Kearney West Storage on MO-92 says renters get 24-hour access.
• Kearney West had an 8×10 available online at $90/mo. Its 10×10 ($75), 10×20 ($95), 10×30 ($150) and climate 10×15 ($125) were all on a waiting list. Its office is by appointment only.
• North Kearney Storage is unstaffed. Its StorageCafe listing showed a 10×15 at $100/mo and vehicle spaces from $55 (12×20). Call 816-628-5875 to rent.
• North Park Storage advertises non-climate units “starting at $62” and climate “starting at $82”, with no sizes given. Its StorageCafe listing said “No units are currently available,” so call first.
• Liberty Secure Storage is the only Liberty operator that advertises 24-hour access, and its rent page said “Sorry, we have no available units” on research day.
• StorageMart N Church Rd sells after-hours access. Its Storage.com listing says “24-hour access (with manager approval, for an additional monthly fee)”. Regular access is 6:00 AM–10:00 PM. Its own page listed a drive-up 10×10 at $86 and a drive-up 5×10 at $60. SpareFoot showed a $68 deal on a 10×10. It’s the only Liberty facility on SpareFoot’s 24-hour Liberty page; the other 12 are 5.5 to 14.8 miles away.
• Public Storage on N Stewart Rd has no 24/7 badge and closes at 10:00 PM. Its outside drive-up 10×10 was $149 online. Public Storage’s nearest 24/7-badge pad is 7707 N Oak Trafficway in Gladstone, 8.3 miles away, where an outside swing-door 10×10 was $45 on a Halloween Sale.
• Everyone else closes at 10:00 PM. Both Attic pads on Route 291, Liberty Bend, Bulldog and Easy Storage list a 6:00 AM–10:00 PM gate. Easy Storage says customers must be out by 10 PM.

Takeaway: For true round-the-clock access, look in Kearney: North Kearney Storage (24-hour store hours, every unit drive-up, 10×15 $100 on StorageCafe) and Kearney West Storage (8×10 $90 available online) are the two with a price you can act on today. In Liberty, call Liberty Secure Storage about openings, or ask StorageMart N Church Rd what its after-hours add-on costs on top of the $86 drive-up 10×10.

Prices exclude admin fees ($29 StorageMart and Public Storage), StorageMart’s 2.5% card fee and its after-hours add-on, insurance or protection plans, tax and later rate changes. North Kearney prices come from StorageCafe because the operator page didn’t show units.

What “24-hour access” means here

1. Small operators run the 24-hour gates. All four 24-hour claims came from independent Kearney and Liberty operators. The chain pads close at 10:00 PM.
2. Availability is the catch. Liberty Secure showed no units, North Park’s listing showed none, and most Kearney West sizes were on a waiting list. Ask to be added to the list, and ask when it usually turns over.
3. “With manager approval, for an additional monthly fee” means ask first. StorageMart N Church Rd’s after-hours option isn’t priced online. Get the fee and the rules before you sign.
4. Listing filters are loose. SpareFoot’s 24-hour Liberty page lists 13 facilities, and only one is in Liberty. Go by what the facility tells you.
5. Unstaffed means call ahead. North Kearney Storage is unstaffed and Kearney West’s office is by appointment, so you can’t just walk in to rent.

Verify checklist (before you rent)

• Ask whether 24-hour access applies to your unit and whether it’s included or costs extra
• Ask whether the unit is actually available or on a waiting list
• Ask whether the online price is still live and what it becomes after any promo
• Budget the admin fee, any card fee (2.5% at StorageMart) and any required protection plan
• Check gate code rules, lighting and cameras if you plan to visit late at night

Liberty & Kearney practical tips

• Prices moved since our 10/06 drive-up guide. Public Storage N Stewart’s drive-up 10×10 went from $140 to $149, its 10×15 from $130 to $142 and its 10×20 from $174 to $194; the $50 drive-up 5×10 wasn’t listed today. StorageMart N Church’s drive-up 10×10 was $112 on Storage.com on 10/06; its own page showed $86 today. Kearney West’s $75 10×10 is now on a waiting list, and a new 8×10 at $90 is available.
• Don’t mix up the two Jefferson St pads. North Kearney Storage (1120) and North Park Storage (1123) are a few doors apart on N Jefferson St (MO-33), and both advertise 24-hour access. Say the street number when you call.
